The four Digital releases on Amazon Video on June 16

While stores are open and there are some great DVD and Blu-ray releases, you may still want to remain inside and get your movies via Amazon Video. There are four new Digital releases this week on June 16.

Don’t forget that there are still some releases from Friday to check out. The King of Staten Island is a great look at Pete Davidson’s life. I think it will certainly show the comedian in a new light that makes you appreciate him more.

But let’s look at the movies that are to come. Here are the four Digital releases this week.

Sniper: Assassin’s End

This movie is also available on DVD and Blu-ray today. Starring Chad Michael Collins and Tom Berenger, it tells the story of a foreign politician murdered live on TV just ahead of a major trade deal with the U.S.. Brandon Beckett, a Special Ops sniper, is the main suspect, but he knows he didn’t do it. He needs to team with his father, Sniper Sgt. Thomas Beckett, to prove it wasn’t him and protect his life.

Of course, everyone is after the pair. That includes the CIA and the Russian bounty hunters. Oh, and there’s a bloodthirsty assassin looking for the price on their heads.

The Etruscan Smile

More from Movies on Amazon

This is another Amazon Video release that is also on DVD at the same time. The Etruscan Smile stars Brian Cox and Rosanna Arquette in a story that travels continents and time. Rory MacNeil is a Scotsman who is forced to leave his homeland in search of medical treatment only available in California.

He has to move in with his estranged son, which naturally leads to problems. However, it also gives Rory a chance to bond with his grandson, which will help the relationship with his own son.

The Marshes

Next up is The Marshes, another movie heading to DVD and Blu-ray at the same time. Dafna Kronental and Sam Delich star in this as two biologists who head out to a remote region of Australia with their assistant to conduct field studies. It’s soon clear that they’re not alone in the marshlands, and it’s something far more sinister than the local wildlife.

They have something evil following them. That evil presence will hunt them down one-by-one, and they all start to question their own sanity. Now they just need to abandon their research and make it out alive.

The Short History of the Long Road

Finally, we’re turning our attention to Ani Simon-Kennedy’s The Short History of the Long Road. Starring Sabrina Carpenter as Nola, we follow her as she lives out of a van with her father. The two travel the world in their van, but when there’s a tragedy, Nola finds herself on the road alone.

Nola takes the wheel and journeys across country with just her own wits. Along the journey, she deals with her past, her grief, and a hope for the future.
