The top three picks from the June 16 DVD and Blu-ray releases

There are some excellent movies and TV shows heading to DVD and Blu-ray on June 16. It can be overwhelming to choose what to buy, which is why we narrow the picks down to the top three.

One of the picks is a TV show. The latest season of HISTORY’s Project Blue Book is out. Sadly, it’s also the final season, and fans aren’t happy with the way the scripted show has ended.

The other two releases are movies. One is perfect for families, while the other is aimed more towards the adults in the house.

Project Blue Book Season 2

We’ll start with the HISTORY show that has come to an end. Project Blue Book Season 2 will be available on DVD and Blu-ray, offering all episodes of the season. There’s also likely the deleted scenes and gag reel, along with some featurettes.

There may also be The Complete Series boxset released since the second season is the last. This certainly had potential for more, but HISTORY is moving away from scripted shows.

LEGO DC Shazam: Magic and Monsters

If you’re looking for something for the kids, this week is going to treat you to LEGO DC Shazam: Magic and Monsters. Whether your kids have seen the live-action Shazam or not, this is a great addition for their DVD and Blu-ray collection.

The movie sees the Justice League invite Shazam to join them, but he decides to reject the offer. After all, he’s sure when they realize he’s just a 10-year-old kid, he’ll be rejected anyway. However, Shazam must learn the trust those around him when Mr. Mind and the Monster Society of Evil kidnap the Justice League.

Impractical Jokers: The Movie

You may have already got this on Digital. If not, now is your time to get it on DVD and Blu-ray. It’s perfect for all Impractical Jokers fans out there.

The Tenderloins take to the big screen. This time, a fan invites them to a party, but there are only three tickets. On the way to Miami, they take on a number of challenges with the loser of the challenges set to miss out on the party. The four friends are about to go head-to-head in competition.
