White Fragility takes over the top spot of the most sold nonfiction Amazon books

There was plenty of movement on the list of most sold nonfiction Amazon books from May 31 to June 6. White Fragility by Robin J. Diangelo was just one book to enter the list.

With the Black Lives Matter protests happening around the world, more people are looking for ways to have some difficult conversations. They want to understand more about how words are hurtful and get a grip on white privilege. It also means gaining an understanding of white fragility, so a book with that title in the top place is understandable and right.

It wasn’t the only new book focused on the Black Lives Matter and the reasons behind the protests to make it to the list. The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander, Me and White Spremacy by Layla F. Saad, and So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo joined the list.

These additions did mean other books saw some big drops. Becoming by Michelle Obama saw a loss of three places, while Relationship Goals by Michael Todd saw a 10-place drop. The latter was the largest drop on the whole list, but there were others not far behind.

Like the fiction side of things, the most sold list of nonfiction books looks nothing like the most read list. The most sold list is often based on current events or the need to buy extra workbooks for children to learn. The most read list involves those who listen by Audible or read via Kindle Unlimited, and they may choose to re-read chapters of older books for various reasons.
