Michelle Obama keeps the top spot of the most read nonfiction Amazon books

Every week, we look at the most read and most sold fiction books on Amazon. They’re an insight into the types of stories readers want to enjoy, but there’s another list that shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s all about the nonfiction Amazon books of the week.

The non-fiction books can be forgotten about in times of struggle. During the coronavirus pandemic, we wanted something to take our minds off the situation, focusing on the worlds of fantasy, sci-fi, and mystery to keep us entertained.

More from Amazon Books

When it comes to times of change, we need to pay attention to the nonfiction Amazon books. They’ll help us understand, empathize, and learn. They allow us to grow as people, whether it comes to understanding the troubles of different races or how to just be a much better person than we currently are.

It shouldn’t be surprising that Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s books Becoming is on the list. It’s one of the most talked-about nonfiction books right now. This is her memoir, her story about her time in the White House—the most inclusive White House America had and still has ever seen. Even if you’ve watched the Netflix docuseries, you still need to read the book.

Also on the list is Untamed by Glennon Doyle, which is focused on strong women. We try hard to be good mothers, daughters, friends, and every other label that is put on us. However, it can leave us stuck and weary. This nonfiction book puts the focus back on being a woman, of being our untamed selves.

The only new nonfiction book on the list last week was Kevin Hart’s The Decision. It’s a candid and raw book that focuses on overcoming the “BS” of today and fighting for success tomorrow. It’s an Audible-only book, but well worth the purchase.

The bottom of the list did see some drops. The Great Influenza lost a spot, as focus on the coronavirus stops for the moment. It’s not surprising as The Stand is losing places on the fiction side of things. Born a Crime by Trevor Noah also lost a spot, but I suspect this will gain places next week. It’s time to look at the full list.
