Mary J. Blige’s Body Cam is getting the DVD treatment soon

During the coronavirus pandemic, Paramount Pictures chose to release Body Cam straight to VOD. Now it’s getting the DVD treatment for fans to watch.

Mary J. Blige stars in what looks to be a standard cop thriller. Within seconds of the trailer, it’s clear that’s not the case. There’s a supernatural element to this story, and we all have to figure out what it is. The cops in her unit are all in danger unless she gets to the bottom of it.

While you can get it on VOD right now, Body Cam is heading to DVD on July 14, 2020. You can pre-order the DVD through Amazon right now, grabbing the Price Guarantee at the same time. You’ll also get it with two-day free shipping with your Amazon Prime account.

There isn’t a Blu-ray release just yet. That doesn’t mean there won’t be in the future, but for now, it’s just on DVD and Digital.

What do the critics say about Body Cam?

Of course, you’ll want to know how good the movie is likely to be. Like so many supernatural horror movies, the critics and audiences are mixed—and both mixed at about the same level. It has a 45% score from critics and 56% score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s one of those movies that you’ll like love or not. It all depends on the type of thrillers you prefer, but if supernatural suspense is for you, I get the feeling you’ll find something to enjoy about this movie. Being released straight to VOD in the middle of the pandemic and coming so quickly to DVD suggests Paramount Pictures knew it was one of those gamble movies.
