Written and directed by Rian Johnson, Knives Out brings some fun twists and turns to the traditional “whodunit” type of movie. Daniel Craig takes the lead in a role so completely the opposite of James Bond you’ll appreciate his acting abilities. Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ana de Amas are also among the cast.
The movie tells the story of renowned crime novels Harlan Thrombey found dead at his estate. It’s just after his 85th birthday, and that means his dysfunctional family was around. Of course, that opens the pool of suspects considerably and it’s up to Detective Benoit Blanc to figure out the mystery. It’s not going to be easy with red herrings and lies everywhere he turns.
According to Rotten Tomatoes critics and audiences, this is a movie you need to check out. Not only does it hold a 97% approval rating from the critics, but it’s also Certified Fresh. The audience wasn’t quite as positive but still rate it highly with a 92% approval rating.
