Footloose, Upload and more coming to Amazon Prime this week: April 27 to May 1
By Mads Lennon
Lots of new content is coming to Amazon Prime the week of April 27 and May 1. The 2011 Footloose remake arrives and a new original series called Upload!
Since it is about to be the start of a brand new month, expect to see lots of great new content arriving on Amazon Prime this week. Unfortunately, most of the new stuff isn’t coming until Friday, May 1, but there is at least one new movie being added to the catalog this week.
Footloose fans will be able to watch the 2011 remake beginning on April 29. The film stars Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Miles Teller, and Dennis Quaid. It mostly follows the same plot as the original story, with a newcomer to a small Southern town called Bomont getting a serious shock when he discovers loud music and dancing have been outlawed.
Then on Friday, Amazon Prime is releasing the new Amazon Original Series, Upload, starring Robbie Amell. IT is written by the same guy who previously worked on shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation. Upload is set in a tech-savvy future where people can be “uploaded” online to experience a virtual afterlife once they get close to death.
On May 1, Amazon Prime Video will change up their Amazon Channel sampling offers with new seasons you can watch for free before deciding if you want to sign-up for the channel offering the complete series. New shows include the first season of Boss, Rosehaven, and more.
Finally, a new month means a bunch of new films will be added to the already-extensive Amazon Prime catalog. New movies this month include exciting flicks like multiple Friday the 13th films and Escape from Alcatraz.
