Rocketman is finally coming to Amazon Prime Video in May 2020

We knew it was a matter of when and not if when it came to Rocketman on Amazon Prime Video. There isn’t much longer to wait to stream it online.

When Rocketman was released in theaters, we knew it would eventually stream on Amazon Prime Video. Being a Paramount Pictures movie, it was a matter of when and not if. Well, the “when” has finally been answered, and there isn’t much longer to wait.

The Elton John biographic is heading to the streaming platform on May 22, 2020. It marks just more than a year since the movie was released in theaters, which is roughly the timeframe we expected. Most Paramount movies take 11-12 months to make it to Amazon Prime Video.

If you haven’t watched it yet, this is certainly a movie to check out. Even if you’re not interested in Elton John’s music (why wouldn’t you be?) the story is one of inspiration and heart.

It takes us through the earlier years of his career, up to him entering rehab for drug addiction. This isn’t just a story of a man finding fame, but of what that fame did to him. It’s a story of his addiction to everything around him, and the trouble he had with relationships because of his addictions and need for more fame.

Taron Egerton takes on the lead role, and Elton John only had praise. In fact, critics only had praise for his portrayal of the living legend, especially when it came to Egerton’s singing.

With Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) and Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) also in the cast, this is a movie for everyone to see. It’s available for free with your Amazon Prime membership.
