If you’re disappointed that you haven’t been able to see The Photograph in theaters, there’s some good news. It’s heading to DVD and Blu-ray in May 2020.

Not everyone gets the chance to see movies on opening weekend or even in the first week. Some of us have to wait a month or so. If you were planning on seeing The Photograph this week, you may be disappointed at the theaters closing. We agree they have to, but it doesn’t negate the disappointment.

The good news is that Universal Pictures has now officially set the DVD and Blu-ray release date. The Photograph is heading to DVD and Blu-ray on May 12, 2020, and you can pre-order on Amazon right now. There may be a delay in getting the movie depending on how long the current health situation goes on.

For those who can’t wait for it to come to DVD or just aren’t sure about the situation in two months, you may want to get it on Digital. The Photograph will be available to purchase on Digital through Amazon Video and other platforms on Apr. 28.

There don’t seem to be any plays for Universal Pictures bringing the VOD date forward. This is something that has happened with The Invisible ManThe Hunt, and some other movies, but it’s not a plan for everything. It suggests that Universal still wants to keep the 90-day theatrical window intact when the theaters are able to open again.

The romantic movie certainly received praise from audiences. Critics were a little more divided, but still on the positive side, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
