A Hidden Life gets March DVD and Blu-ray release date
Not everyone during World War II joined the Nazi party to save their own lives. A Hidden Life tells the story of a man who didn’t. It’s on DVD in March.
During World War II, many in German-occupied lands would join the Nazi party to save their own lives. Not everyone did, and A Hidden Life gets the chance to tell one man’s story. You can watch it all on DVD and Blu-ray in March.
We’ve been waiting for this movie to head to DVD and Blu-ray. While many World War II movies will tell the tale of soldiers on the Western Front or those battling against the Japanese in the air, A Hidden Life opts for a story of one man who chose to be a conscientious objector. Franz Jägerstätter knew that meant possible execution and it certainly put his family in danger, but he couldn’t possibly join the evil incarnate that he viewed the Nazis as.

This isn’t going to be the easiest movie to watch. Not only is there some horrific treatment, but director Terrence Malick isn’t for everyone. But then, isn’t that the same with all directors? I’m not the biggest fan of Guy Richie films, so I totally understand those not interested in movies by other directors. However, critics and audiences both praise Malick for this heartbreaking but wonderous tale.
