Looking for something to buy this weekend? There are some excellent new DVD and Blu-ray releases on Feb. 18. Here are the top five picks.

If you’re looking for a new DVD and Blu-ray or two to add to your collection, look no further than the releases this week. Feb. 18 sees the releases of some big movies from the end of 2019. There’s also a TV series you’re going to want to add to your collection, especially if you’re interested in horror and mystery.

With so many releases, it can be difficult to block out the noise. It can be overwhelming to choose. Here are the top five DVD and Blu-ray releases we’ve picked out this week.

5. 21 Bridges

More from Movies on Amazon

First up is the movie that sees Black Panther take on the role of NY cop. Chadwick Boseman stars as a disgraced former NYPD detective who gets the chance to right all his wrongs. When there’s a notorious cop killer on the loose in New York, he makes the decision to close all 21 bridges off the island. It’s time to take down the cop killer once and for all.

Naturally, that causes a problem for everyone. Is it the right choice to call? You’ll be able to watch it from start to finish with all bonus features on Feb. 18.

4. Jojo Rabbit

Need a comedy? Jojo Rabbit is the surprisingly light wartime movie to check out. It’s definitely not going to be for everyone, but if you like satire and a new way of keeping the horrors of the Second World War in the minds of others, this is the movie to check out.

Jojo is the product of Nazi Germany, sure that all Jews are bad. However, when he finds out his mother has been hiding a Jewish girl in her attic, Jojo learns that not everything is as it seems. Oh, and you may want to know Jojo has an invisible friend: Adolf Hitler.

3. Midway

While there’s a World War II movie that’s a comedy, Feb. 18 also sees the DVD and Blu-ray release of a serious wartime movie. You know all about Pearl Harbor, but what about another major battle between the U.S. and Japan? Midway tells that story.

This is more than just a wartime movie. It shows the decisions from the top that contradict all instincts of those on the ground. Who will do what it takes to win?

2. The Twilight Zone Season 1

While all the other DVD and Blu-ray releases on this list are movies, there’s one TV show that is available on Feb. 18. It’s all about Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone. You’ve only been able to watch it on CBS All Access up to this point, but now you can watch it all on DVD and Blu-ray.

Each episode is a standalone story. Some stories are better than others, but that was the case with the original story. Expect plenty to involve race and immigration, as well as natural human instincts. It’s certainly one for all the horror and mystery fans out there.

1. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Finally, there’s only one that you must get immediately: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is officially out on DVD and Blu-ray. The Tom Hanks movie is all about the legendary Fred Rogers, who spent his life making surprising friendships. During the movie, journalist Tom Junod gets to meet and talk to the man who influenced generations of children.

It’s a beautiful movie that will touch even the most cynical of hearts. This is a must for anyone who is a fan of Tom Hanks or who grew up with Mr. Rogers influencing their lives.
