8. Informer

In January 2019, Amazon Prime Video brought a series that had previously aired in the UK. It was a co-production between the two shows, so yes, it counts for this list. Informer was about a British man who is caught with drugs and is forced into becoming an informant for the cops.

Soon, situations get out of control, as you would expect with this sort of story. But while all this was going on, we had a constant reminder that this was the past. One of the lead characters was giving testimony and we got glimpses of a terrorist attack. We were left putting the pieces of the puzzle together, as we watched how one man becoming an informant could have a knock-on effect on everyone else around him.

7. The Feed

In November 2019, Amazon brought another co-production with the UK. The Feed was based on the book of the same name, telling us a story of advanced technology that eventually led to people being forced to commit murder. They would have no control and no way of stopping themselves.

It certainly makes you think twice about having this sort of technology. You’re reminded of the dangers of technology, especially with giving up information to major companies. We’re still waiting on word for a second season. It deserves it and there’s plenty of source material, but this show is in danger of being canceled.
