It’s time to see how the Star Wars trilogy is going to end. Star Wars: Episode IX is now out in theaters, but when can you watch it at home? More importantly, how can you watch it at home? Will Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stream on Amazon Prime Video?
Sadly, you’re not going to get the latest movie free with your Prime membership. There’s no point complaining at Amazon for this. It’s all about licensing, and Disney holds the licensing and distribution rights. It’s really not that surprising that the movie will head to Disney+, which is where all other Star Wars content current sits.

It’s hard to say when the release will be. Disney+ only just came out in November, and we’re still getting to know what the release timelines are going to look like. Most Disney content took about eight to nine months to head to Netflix, so we could see something similar for Disney.
But does that mean you won’t be able to stream it on Amazon at all? That’s definitely not the case! This is Disney and it’s all about money. There’s a large amount of money that comes from Digital releases, as well as the DVD and Blu-ray releases. It’s highly likely this ninth movie in the main story overall is going to head to Digital, which means buying it on Amazon Video.
Other movies are already available, including The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Even the original trilogy starring Mark Hamil, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are available to buy or rent on Amazon Video. There’s no reason to think this isn’t going to be the case with The Rise of Skywalker.
