The final installment in the 2010s Star Wars saga is out in theaters. When can you get it at home? When is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on DVD?

Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and many more are back for the final installment in the third set of Star Wars trilogies. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently out in theaters, but when will it be available to watch at home? When will Star Wars: Episode IX be on DVD and Blu-ray?

With the movie only just out in theaters, it’s impossible to give an exact date. Disney hasn’t announced that, but it is possible to look at previous releases to guestimate the release. We’ll look at previous Star Wars releases, as the say timeline will likely be followed. Most Star Wars movies were released either three-and-a-half or four months after the theatrical release.

The most recent, Solo: A Star Wars Movie, took a full four months to come to DVD. However, Star Wars: Episode VIII only took three-and-a-half months. The latter is the timeline we’re likely looking at for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Expect it around the end of March 2020.

What about the Digital copy? We will be able to buy the Digital release on Amazon Video. That has previously happened either a couple of weeks before the DVD release date or on the day of release. So we’re likely looking at the middle to the end of March 2020.

Star Wars: Episode IX is certainly a movie many are looking forward to. It will bring an end to the most recent trilogy of movies and bring an end to the Skywalker story as a whole. At least, that’s the expectation. You never know with Disney and the Star Wars writers!
