The Art and Making of The Expanse details the ideas behind the designs. One of my favorite sections is looking at the beautiful costumes worn by Chrisjen Avasarala, played by Shohreh Aghdashloo.
This isn’t just about the main characters or just the impressive, detailed ship. There’s a look at the creation of the different worlds, the side characters who play important roles, and the drawings to get from the novel series to the screen.
When you look through the book, you’ll soon realize just how much work went into The Expanse. You’ll understand why it was just so important for Amazon to save the series, heading somewhere with a budget large enough for the details necessary for the space series.
