The first week of December brought some more movement at the top of the most sold Amazon books list. Starsight and The Rise of Magicks made excellent debuts.

It’s a new week, and that means a new list of most sold Amazon books for the week. Just what did people buy between Dec. 1 and 7?

Well, it was certainly a good week for movement. The top of the list saw two new additions, with one of those knocking John Grisham off the top spot. Starsight by Brandon Sanderson was that book. Nora Roberts’ The Rise of Magicks missed out slightly, but still entered well in third place. There is a chance this book will move up this week, especially since it debuted so well on the most-read list.

More from Amazon Books

As expected, Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man: Fetch-22 moved up eight spots on the list. This was one of those books parents needed to find out about because what kid doesn’t love the books? The latest in The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books also moved up a spot.

It’s a special week for Harry Potter, as the illustrated version of Goblet of Fire was finally released to mark the 20th anniversary. It made its debut in 15th place. I do have a feeling this will go up a little over the coming weeks as people buy their loved ones it for Christmas. I know it’s already on a Christmas list in this house!

Sadly, while there was some positive movement, there was also some movement down the list. Four out of the five Dean Koontz books remained on the list this week, with one hanging on in 20th place. Blue Moon by Lee Child dropped six places.

It was David Baldacci’s A Minute to Midnight that lost the most spots. After debuting in second place, it dropped 10 spots during the first week of December.
