1. Game of Thrones

You knew that this had to be the top pick, right? Game of Thrones is the biggest hit to come from HBO, so it’s a series that deserved the number one spot. Whether you liked the last season or not, you’ll agree that the first few are some of the best seasons of TV ever to grace our screens.

Wait, you’ve never even given this epic fantasy series a chance? Why not? Where have you been?

This is a series with a battle for a throne (well, duh!), dragons, giant wolves, betrayals, murders, and so much more. If you love historical fiction like The Tudors then you’re going to want to give Game of Thrones a chance.

Based on the novel series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, it takes place in the fantasy world of Westeros. The Baratheons have been on the throne for the last 19 years. When King Robert turns to his old friend, Ned Stark, to be the Hand of the King after the mysterious, sudden death of his own, you just know that something bad is going to happen.

And so begins a journey that takes seven seasons. After all, it’s not just about these two families. There’s a growing concern north of the Wall, while the exiled Targaryens take steps to gain their throne back.

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. Who will be the victor?
