Roma is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in February 2020

Up to this point, Roma has only been on Netflix. Want to watch without your subscription? You’ll soon be able to. Roma is coming to DVD in the new year.

Most Netflix movies will remain exclusive to the streaming service. This makes sense, especially with the newer streamers out now. However, Netflix Originals head to DVD and Blu-ray, and Roma is one of those getting the DVD treatment.

The release on DVD and Blu-ray isn’t all that surprising. Roma did get a theatrical release, unlike the majority of DVD releases. However, you’re going to have a wait a while. The Spanish-language movie is going to be available to purchase from Feb. 11, 2020.

Some great news is that you can pre-order Roma on DVD and Blu-ray through Amazon right now. It seems odd saying you can get a Netflix movie on Amazon, but that’s the case right now. It’s possible to pre-order either the DVD or the Blu-ray copy, and you’ll get it mailed to you by the day of release. If you order with Amazon Prime, you’ll usually get it sent to you a couple of days ahead of the release so you have it on the day.

Will you be able to order on Amazon Video? Unlike the majority of DVD and Blu-ray releases, Roma isn’t going to be available to purchase digitally. The only way you’ll be able to watch the digital version is through Netflix. After all, something needs to remain exclusive, right?

Roma is a tale of two young friends in early 1970s Mexico City. Cleo and Adela are maids in the house of a wealthy woman, but their lives are thrown into chaos when Cleo learns she’s pregnant. She needs to find a way to deal with the upcoming birth while finding a way to serve her employer in a city that is facing social unrest.
