Will Doctor Sleep be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video?

Dan Torrance’s story continues after The Shining in the new horror film, Doctor Sleep. Will Mike Flanagan’s latest film stream on Amazon Prime?
The Shining is considered one of the best horror movies of all time despite Stephen King himself publically denouncing the film. If you have any misgivings about its follow-up, Doctor Sleep, you should know that King has endorsed Mike Flanagan’s film in a way he never did with Stanley Kubrick’s.
Doctor Sleep focuses entirely on Dan Torrance in his adulthood. He is still grappling with the traumatic events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel all those years before. Dan meets another woman who has the same supernatural gift as him.
Together they must try and stop a dangerous cult called the True Knot led by the eerie Rose the Hat. Their goal is to steal the “shine” from children to become immortal.

Some people don’t like seeing horror movies in theaters and prefer to watch with all the lights on at home, or maybe you just loved the movie so much you want to rewatch right away. It would be easier to watch it on Amazon Prime Video, so will it eventually come to the streaming service? Doctor Sleep is a Warner Brothers film which means it will eventually wind up on HBO’s streaming service.
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, then you should be able to get the HBO add-on channel to watch it that way. However, this could potentially change depending on how HBO Max develops and if Doctor Sleep moves there instead of HBO GO or HBO NOW.
Previous Warner Brothers films like Shazam!, Isn’t it Romantic, and The Lego Movie 2 took six months to progress to HBO’s streaming services. If Doctor Sleep follows that same pattern we can anticipate seeing it in HBO’s library by May 2020.
