Paramount Pictures movies tend to wait three months between theatrical and DVD release. We’re probably looking at about Oct. 14 for the DVD and Blu-ray release of Gemini Man based on other releases. They tend to happen on the closest Tuesday to the exact three-month mark.
What about Amazon Video? Digital copies tend to be released two weeks before the DVD and Blu-ray releases. That means we’re looking at the start of January for Gemini Man on Amazon Video.
This action movie has certainly divided fans and critics. It has a low 24% approval rating from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with many complaining about the dialogue and the storyline. However, audiences have enjoyed it, rating it 84% and recommending that people ignore the critics on this occasion.
It’s not all that surprising that the critic reviews are low. There will have been many high expectations since it’s an Ang Lee movie starring Will Smith. The trailers also make it look extremely entertaining and intriguing with the use of CGI for a younger Will Smith as the clone. Those just going in to enjoy the movie will have had lower expectations.
