The Lion King roars to DVD and Blu-ray in October 2019

Take home Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumba, and tons of bonus features when The Lion King releases on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD this October!
Simba can roar in your very own living room in a few short weeks. Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King featuring a star-studded cast will come home on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD this October.
The Lion King earned more than $1 billion at the box office this summer. If you’re a fan of the story and loved seeing the movie in theaters, make sure you jump on the opportunity to own it! Starting on Oct. 11, you’ll be able to purchase the Digital 4K Ultra HD version through Movies Anywhere or Amazon Video. On Oct. 22, you can own the film on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Currently, you can pre-order the movie digitally on Amazon Video (it does include bonus content!). But you won’t be able to buy a physical copy through Amazon until closer to the release date or after.
Priority will go to members of Disney Movie Club, who will get the film before Amazon retailers.
In addition to owning the film in high-quality, the movie will be packed with more than an hour of bonus features such as:
- The Journey to The Lion King – A three-part documentary about the film’s creation, featuring discussions with Simba himself (Donald Glover), director Jon Favreau, the team who worked on creating the animals, and other members from the cast and crew.
- More to Be Scene – A layer-by-layer exploration of how certain iconic film moments were brought to life.
- “Never Too Late” lyric video by Elton John and music video for “Spirit” by Beyoncé
- Movie singalongs
- Protect the Pride – A feature about the campaign to protect the lion population.
The Lion King stars Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and James Earl Jones.
