Will Angry Birds 2 be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video?

If the birds weren’t angry enough for you in theaters maybe you want to consider rewatching Angry Birds 2 at home. Will it be on Amazon Prime Video?

The angry birds and the green pigs are back again for more hilarity and mischief in Angry Birds 2, now playing in theaters. This movie follows an unlikely alliance between the long-time enemies, birds and pigs, as a new foe turns up on an ice island.

These mysterious new birds have a plan to destroy all fowl and pigs to take over the islands for themselves. In order to save their homes, enemies must become frenemies in this new adventure story.

If you and your family loved Angry Birds 2 in theaters, or if you won’t get the chance to see the film in cinemas, you’re probably wondering if it will be available on Amazon Prime Video. We have some unfortunate news for you. Angry Birds is part of Sony Pictures Animation and their animation films typically go to Netflix.

Previous films, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, are currently all available to watch on the rival streaming platform. Most likely, Sony Animation and Netflix have a deal.

It’s surprising because many other Sony films go to STARZ, such as Venom, which is accessible to Prime members through Amazon Video Channels. A different agreement must have been created for Netflix to gain more family and kid-oriented titles from Sony’s animated division.

However, you will be able to purchase the film eventually on Amazon Video and of course, on DVD  and Blu-ray. We’ll keep you posted on when an official release date is announced.
