Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986)

  • Directed by: Brian Gibson
  • Starring: Heather O’Rourke, Julian Black, JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, Zelda Rubinstein, and Will Sampson

While not nearly as good as the first Poltergeist, the sequel is still a fun watch. Plus, it helps that most of the original cast returns.

In the follow-up film, the Freeling family has finally escaped from their house of horrors, or have they? It doesn’t take long for poor Carol Anne to be put in danger yet again when the Beast learns where she is.

The Uninvited (2009)

  • Directed by: Charles and Thomas Guard
  • Starring: Emily Browning, Arielle Kebbel, Elizabeth Banks, David Strathairn, Jesse Moss, and Maya Massar

Anna (Browning) returns home from a psychiatric facility only to find everything different from the way she left things. Her father is engaged to a nurse named Rachel (Banks). One night, Anna is visited by the enraged ghost of her deceased mother.

Anna and her sister Alex (Kebbel) try to figure out what has caused their mom to return from the grave. They soon realize the truth is far darker than they imagined. The film is a remake of a South Korean horror film called A Tale of Two Sisters.

The Hills Have Eyes Part II (2006)

  • Directed by: Martin Weisz
  • Starring: Jessica Stroup, Daniella Alonso, Michael Bailey Smith, Jacob Vargas, Michael McMillian, and Lee Thompson Young

This film is a sequel to the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. If you were hoping for the Wes Craven film, unfortunately, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

Jessica Stroup, Daniella Alonso, and Michael McMillian star as National Guard patrol members. They follow a distress signal from the mountains but when they travel there to assist the people in need they stumble upon a vicious tribe of cannibals.
