Detective Pikachu coming to DVD and Blu-Ray in August 2019

The popular live-action Pokemon film, Detective Pikachu, will officially be coming home this August on DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital, and 4K UHD.
Detective Pikachu was a big hit for Warner Brothers Studios when it released this past May. Ryan Reynolds voiced the lovable character of Pikachu himself and the movie introduced new lore and world-building into the already lush world of Pokemon.
If anything, Detective Pikachu’s popularity has proved how popular the Pokemon brand still is, even after all these years. Now you’ll be able to take home the movie yourself on DVD, Blu-Ray, or 4K UHD. The film will officially release August 6, 2019. Unfortunately, no word yet on what special features the physical copy will contain but I imagine Warner Brothers isn’t going to skimp on the extras.

I advise you to pre-order the movie if it is in your budget. As an Amazon Prime member, you’ll get the Prime Price Guarantee and therefore be locked into the lowest possible cost of the movie, even if it fluctuates between now and its release.
For fans who prefer to own digital copies of their films, you won’t have to wait quite as long. The film will become available for purchase through Amazon Video next month on July 23, 2019.
The story follows Tim Goodman, a failed Pokemon trainer, on the hunt for his missing father, an accomplished detective who lives in Ryme City, a place where pokemon and humans live alongside each other in a diverse economy. There he encounters his father’s Pokemon partner, Pikachu, and the two embark on an adventure.
