When is Brightburn on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray?

Sometimes there’s a standard movie with an odd twist that makes you rethink everything you know. Brightburn hints to be one of those movies. When can you watch Brightburn on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray?

There are so many superhero movies out there. Whether you’re a DC or Marvel fan, they tend to follow the same formula. Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, is back with a superhero movie with a twist. When can you watch Brightburn on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray?

Starring Elizabeth Banks and Jackson A. Dunn, the movie gives us a look at what if Superman was evil. If you’re looking forward to Amazon Prime’s The Boys because of this darker twist to superheroes, you may just love Brightburn. So, when will you be able to own it?

Sony movies tend to take about three months to go from theater release to DVD and Blu-ray release. We’re looking at about the end of August 2019 for the movie to be on disc.

When it comes to Amazon Video, we could get a slightly earlier release. The release dates vary between Sony movies. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween was released three weeks before the DVD and Blu-ray, but it was only a week ahead of the DVD release date to get Venom digitally. Based on a late August release date, we’re looking at early- to mid-August for the Amazon Video release.

Brightburn is currently receiving mixed reviews from critics and fans. Viewers are more favorable, with 72% of people liking it compared to the 58% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes. If you’re going in for something without violence, the trailer should make it clear this isn’t going to be the case. This is a gory horror movie where the superhero isn’t quite so “hero.”
