Will Netflix’s The Perfect Date be available on DVD and Blu-ray?
The Perfect Date is Netflix’s latest teen rom-com. Will The Perfect Date eventually be released on DVD and Blu-ray?
The Perfect Date was released on Netflix recently. While you can certainly watch it through the streaming service, there are many of you who want to own the physical copies. Will you be able to get The Perfect Date on DVD and Blu-ray?
Despite being on Netflix, this isn’t a ridiculous question to ask. Some Netflix Originals are released on DVD and Blu-ray. This is usually the case for the biggest TV show releases because people love to get their hands on deleted scenes, featurettes, and more. So what about the movies?

Netflix Films don’t tend to get a DVD release. It’s unlikely that we’ll see The Perfect Date on DVD or Blu-ray. After all, what’s the point in people having a Netflix subscription if they can get all the best movies and TV shows on disc later on?
If Netflix does decide to release the movie, it will likely be in at least a year’s time, judging by recent releases such as House of Cards Season 6 and Fuller House Season 3. Most TV shows are released around the same time a new season is dropped or about a year after the final season is aired on the streaming service. We can use that sort of projection for movies, so we’re looking at April 2020 at the earliest for the DVD and Blu-ray.
However, I don’t think Netflix is going to share The Perfect Date on DVD and Blu-ray. There is a lot of pressure to keep subscribers with rising costs and the new Disney+ platform. Keeping the best content exclusive is the best way to do that.
