There are so many book adaptations coming out at the moment. It can be hard to keep track. After is one of the latest YA romances to hit theaters and it’s certainly one that has drawn in fans of the novel and those looking for something exciting to watch. When will After be out on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray?
Since the movie has only just been released in theaters, it’s going to take some time for it to come to DVD. It takes about three months for movies to be available for home viewing, so we’re looking at July 2019 for After on DVD and Blu-ray.

For those looking for the digital copy, this usually happens a little sooner. You can expect the movie to be on Amazon Video about two weeks before the DVD release. Since the theatrical release has been the middle of April, look out for the digital release to be about the beginning of July at the earliest.

After is based on the novel of the same name by Anna Todd. The books (yes, it’s a series) were originally a fan fiction about One Direction but were developed into an original piece of work, similarly to E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey.
The books (and movie) follow Tessa Young (portrayed by Josephine Langford), a dedicated student and dutiful daughter. She’s everything teachers and parents love but when she attends her first semester of college, her life changes. Tessa meets Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) and immediately realizes that she wants something more.
This brooding rebel has a dark secret and Tessa wants to know more. At the same time, she starts to learn more about herself and what she wants to gain out of her life.
It is a stereotypical romance. If you love the novel, you’ll likely enjoy the adaptation. If you want something new and exciting in the world of YA romance, this isn’t going to be the movie for you.
