When is Dumbo on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray?

Disney’s first live-action remake of the year is now in theaters. When is Dumbo coming to Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray so you can own it at home?

March has been a good month for movies. The last weekend sees the release of the first Disney live-action remake of the year. Yes, it’s all about Dumbo. But while it may be out in theaters, you want to know when Dumbo will be on Amazon Video, DVD, and Blu-ray, right?

Most movies take about three months to go from theatrical release to DVD release. This has even been the case for Disney live-action remakes, with 2017’s Beauty and the Beast coming out on DVD and Blu-ray in June after it’s March theatrical release. So, there’s a high chance Disney will follow suit.

We could see Dumbo released late June or early July 2019, depending on which Tuesday (all DVD releases are Tuesdays) is the preferred choice. It’s possible that the Amazon Video release could be at the same time, as is what happened with Beauty and the Beast and Christopher Robin. Digital releases are usually to help get the hype up but Disney is counting on you getting the DVDs.

It will be interesting to see if a Digital copy will be made available to purchase. The summer will be hitting close to when the Disney+ streaming service will be available, so we could actually see no Amazon Video release and you may only be able to get the physical copies.

Dumbo is an adorable movie with a big story. A little circus elephant finds out that he can fly — nothing is impossible if you’re willing to set your mind to it. Of course, an evil businessman realizes that this flying elephant could make him plenty of money, so he buys the circus and plans to exploit the loveable creatures. Fortunately, he has friends who are willing to help save him and the circus.
