Avengers: Endgame: New trailer, some answers, so many tears
Disney and Marvel dropped a brand new trailer for Avengers: Endgame on Thursday morning. The trailer gives us new footage, some answers, and guarantees we’ll all be crying in the theater in April.
Whatever. It. Takes. Those are the words that are repeated by several of the Avengers in the new Endgame trailer that released this morning. And those three words are enough to give chills on their own. However, added to the rest of the trailer, I can tell this movie is going to be epic.
There is so much going on in this trailer, that I’m sure I’m going to miss something, and I want you to point it out in the comments.

The trailer makes a bold choice, including black and white footage (with the blood red) from previous movies in the franchise as our characters narrate over them. This reminds us that this is going to be a movie that ends an era.
The trailer begins with our first Avenger, Tony Stark, talking about how it just seems like “a thousand years ago” since he built his first suit and escaped the cave. The first Iron Man movie came out more than 10 years ago, and so much has happened between that first movie and this one.
The overall tone of the trailer is bleak. Tony talks about how he wishes there was something more he could do to save everyone. And we see the now familiar image of him floating in space. Peggy Carter’s voice adds that the world has changed. None of us can go back.
Under her narration you can see Clint training what appears to be his daughter in archery before we see him in the rain, changed. Harder. Ronin? Reunited with Natasha. How much of his family did he lose in the snap?
As the trailer reminds us of all the Avengers who turned to ash in Wakanda, Cap talks about watching everyone die and having to tell people to move on, but they can’t move on. It’s their job to keep fighting. To finish this.
We get our first image of Scott during this montage, and he’s walking down streets looking at all the missing posters. So many missing posters that polls are wallpapered with them.
We get some narration from Natasha as she says they owe it to everyone who they’ve lost to not stop trying.
And then, we get footage of the team fighting. Training. And that’s when one at a time we get Cap, Clint, Natasha, and Tony, all saying those three words: Whatever. It. Takes.
The next shot of the trailer is the team, all wearing new matching uniforms, including Nebula (does that mean she and Tony make it down to Earth?!), walking, determined.
Like they’re heading into battle. Which of course they are. They need to take down Thanos!
The final scene of the trailer shows us Captain Marvel facing off against Thor, who summons Stormbreaker, before declaring that he “likes this one.” You know what Thor? So do I. And I can’t wait to see what she brings to the team.

Whew. That’s a lot. There is so much packed into that two and a half minute trailer.
Did I miss something? How many boxes of tissue are you planning to bring to the theater with you? Based on this trailer, probably a lot. Please let us know your thoughts (and excitements) in the comments below!
