14. Krypton Season 1

When it’s released: Mar. 5, 2019

Starring: Cameron Cuffe, Shaun Sipos, Ann Ogbomo, Aaron Pierre, Georgina Campbell

More from Movies on Amazon

What it’s about: Thought you knew everything you needed to about Superman? It’s time to learn about his grandfather. Krypton is a prequel story, set 200 years before Kal-El’s birth. However, it’s a prequel with a twist. Not everything you think can happen will because Superman hasn’t been born in the future and Seg-El needs to figure out how to fix the future.

Why get it: If you’re looking for another DC show that’s not set in the Arrowverse, Krypton is for you. It immediately solves the prequel problem with a twist to Superman’s birth and will leave you hanging on until the end of the season. A second seaso has been confirmed and is currently in production, so you also don’t need to worry about not getting an ending.

13. Green Book

When it’s released: Mar. 12, 2019 (Digital released Feb. 19)

Starring: Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali, Linda Cardellini, Don Stark, Sebastian Maniscalco

What it’s about: Based on a true story, Green Book is about Don Shirley’s musical tour through the Deep South. As a Jamaican-born pianist, he naturally faced prejudice and hatred and it’s not surprising that he decided to enlist the services of Tony Lip, an NYC bouncer, to be his bodyguard and chauffeur. They two clash at first, but they soon realize that they’re more similar than they initially want to believe.

Why get it: If you want to check out the Academy Award winners, then Green Book is naturally going to be on your list. It was the Best Feature Film winner of the year. However, there are more reasons to get this. It’s an intriguing true story of racism in 1960s America, the lack of differences except for the color of skin, and what we can learn from today.
