When is Alita: Battle Angel out on DVD and Blu-ray?

Every now and then, an anime will get a Hollywood reboot. That’s the case this weekend for Alita: Battle Angel, which is the current anime adaptation that everyone is talking about. But if you don’t want to head to the theaters or if you want to see it again, when will it be available to own at home? When will Alita: Battle Angel be available on DVD and Blu-ray?
Most movies are released two to three months after the theatrical release date, which means we’re looking at any time from mid-April to mid-May this year. Due to the expected success at the Box Office, it wouldn’t be surprising if this was held off until the end of that time frame (and possibly even an exceptional slightly later).

Alita: Battle Angel has certainly had some negativity around it for another anime that has been whitewashed, but it’s also had some good reviews. Critics are mixed, giving it a 59% score on Rotten Tomatoes but audiences are a lot more favorable, giving it a 93% score. There are high chances that this is a movie you’ll like.
FOX was initially going to release the movie in December, putting it up against the likes of Aquaman and Mary Poppins Returns. In the end, the release date was pushed back to February, which tends to be a slow time for movies and certainly helped to give Alita more chance of success. It’s worked, as it’s slightly succeeded Box Office expectations in terms of actual figures and is the top movie for the slow President’s Day weekend releases, according to Variety.
For those who don’t know much about the anime, Alita: Battle Angel is about a cyborg that doesn’t know about her own creation. Cybernetics doctor, Ido, finds her abandoned and decides to bring her back to life, which is when she starts to figure out her full potential. Of course, as she grows in her knowledge of the world, the Iron City’s evil government learns about her and wants her for itself.
