Amazon Books: February 2019 releases to check out
Every Tuesday, a wide range of books release and it can be a lot to pluck through. We’re taking a look at some featured releases for this February.
As an avid reader, I’m always jotting down titles of new books that are coming out that I may want to read at some point. Despite having more books than I have shelf space for, it doesn’t stop me from adding to the pile. Here’s a look at some of this month’s books that caught my attention.
February 5
Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James
This is the first book in The Dark Star Trilogy from Marlon James. If fantasy is your cup of tea, you’ll want to check this out. Marlon James blends African historians mythology to tell an interesting story about a hunter who is trying to find a missing boy.
The Wedding Guest by Jonathan Kellerman
Jonathan Kellerman is a best-selling author who keeps cranking out the books. His latest is another Alex Delaware novel. Delaware’s friend, LAPD Lieutenant Milo Sturgis , needs his help to get into the mind of a killer. The victim was at a wedding, found by one of the bridesmaids.
Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds by Gwenda Bond
This is the first Stranger Things novel and I love that they’re expanding things beyond the Netflix show. If you’re a fan, you might want to pick this one up.
The Hiding Place by C. J. Tudor
I greatly enjoyed Tudor’s debut novel, The Chalk Man. The story is right up my alley and that means I’ll certainly be checking out the new novel. This psychological thriller is absolutely one you should check out.

The Moroccan Girl: A Novel by Charles Cumming
Charles Cumming is known for his work in the spy-thriller genre and this book just adds to that. The story revolves around Kit Carradine, who is approached by an MI6 officer with an assignment that isn’t as easy as it seemed. You’re sure to be in for a thrill with this one.
Parkland: Birth of a Movement by Dave Cullen
Tragic events often become the subject of many non-fiction books and the Parkland shooting is no exception. Dave Cullen, who was one of the first to arrive at Columbine, documents what these students went through and how they’ve worked to prevent future attacks like this from happening.
February 19
Mission Critical by Mark Greaney
Mark Greaney has done some work in the Tom Clancy world. He also writes novels outside of that work and Mission Critical is next up for him. This is the eighth book in the Gray Man series.
The Chef by James Patterson with Max DiLallo
This one technically arrives on February 18. Caleb Rooney is a detective by day and a chef by night. However, he finds himself on the most wanted list. Patterson and DiLallo team up for a standalone novel that you can just dive right into.
February 26
Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland by Patrick Radden Keefe
I heard about this book a while back and have a copy of it to read (which I should probably get to soon). True crime is one of those genres that people will always pay attention to and this book tells the terrifying story of what happened to Jean McConville in 1972.
The Border by Don Winslow
Don Winslow is a seasoned author and this marks book three in the Power of the Dog series. Art Keller is a man who is at war with his own government and the cartels. There’s nothing that could possibly go wrong there, right?
I hope you find a book that you enjoy out of this list (or something not on this list). It can be hard to keep up with everything, because there’s just so much out there.
