On the Basis of Sex is the biographical legal drama that brings up something that we choose to forget now. It may be out in theaters now, but when will you be able to own it at home?
There is no official date just yet. Most movies are released on DVD at least three months after they make it to theater, so we’re looking at April 2019 at the earliest. The Digital release is usually a little earlier than DVD and Blu-ray, so we could be looking at late March or early April for that release.

Felicity Jones stars as Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the woman who forced laws to change. At one point, it was legal to discriminate due to sex, but Bader Ginsberg fought for the change. We’ve still a way to go, but we can all thank Bader Ginsberg for the beginnings.

The movie is good. While it’s not as groundbreaking as the real-life story, Jones is excellent in her portrayal. Armie Hammer, Justin Theroux, Kathy Bates, and Sam Waterson also star, bringing the story to the big screen. If you only want to see one based-on-real-events movie then this is going to be that movie.
Critics and audiences are pretty much in agreement with the movie, which isn’t usual. Rotten Tomatoes sees it with a 71% score from both.
