25 most highly anticipated movies of 2019
22. Dumbo
Directed by: Tim Burton
Starring: Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, and Danny DeVito
Date arriving: March 29, 2019
Why we need to watch it: I know some will say The Lion King is more anticipated, but they’ve just not realized that Dumbo is hitting theaters this year. There’s nothing more sweet and adorable than the elephant that can fly. For decades we’ve watched the animated version and now it’s time to see the live action.
Sure, The Lion King is awesome and both movies are certainly more anticipated than Aladdin — the live action none of us asked for. But Dumbo is bringing an excellent cast with a story that teaches you so many lessons. Parents will most definitely be taking their children to see this, whether the kids want to go or not.
21. Hellboy
Directed by: Neil Marshall
Starring: David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, and Ian McShane
Date arriving: April 12, 2019
Why we need to watch it: There have been plenty of adaptations of Hellboy, which did make me question whether this one should be on the list. But let’s be honest, despite other adaptations, we want to know what this one will be like. There are elements we already don’t like, but that doesn’t mean the whole movie will be bad.
In fact, it’s got an R-rating, which means its the most adult version of Hellboy in recent years. There’s a little more on the character and the development instead of just on the fights and battles this time around, which certainly piques interest.
