2. The Boys

The last two on the list are new Amazon Prime Originals and it all starts with The Boys. This Eric Kripke series turns the superhero shows and movies on their heads. Honestly, I’ve got superhero fatigued and I’m still looking forward to this.

Based on the comics of the same name, the series is certainly going to be adult-focused. Superheroes are like celebrities and they’ve succumbed to the temptations that come with the celebrity lifestyle. No longer fighting for good, a group of vigilantes known as The Boys come together to teach them all lessons.

There’s no release date yet, but we know The Boys is out in 2019. And yes, it’s going to be a Prime Original you’ll need to watch.

1. Good Omens

Lastly, it’s all about another Prime Original that was all the rage at NYCC. Good Omens is another book adaptation, this time by Neil Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett. Gaiman is overseeing the production of the series, with Michael Sheen and David Tennant taking on the role of angel and demon respectively.

There are some developments from the novel. I don’t think they’re anything we’ll have to worry about with the writer himself in charge. Based on the trailer we’ve had, this is going to be one of those shows you need to watch for the comedy and fantasy elements.

Unfortunately, there’s still no date like many Amazon TV shows. Good Omens will be available at some point in 2019. Hopefully, sooner rather than later. You’ll be able to watch with your Prime subscription.
