10 most highly anticipated TV shows coming in 2019
10. Lucifer
I’ll start the list with one that’s coming to Netflix. Originally on FOX, Lucifer was canceled during that horrible Friday in the world of TV. Multiple great shows were given the axe and some of them before their cliffhanger season finales.
Thankfully, Netflix stepped in at the nth minute to save Lucifer. It looked like it was going to be over, but the international support for the series is what gave this a new life. The cast and crew quickly got to work once they received their renewal.
Like all Netflix shows, we can expect a full 10-episode drop in one go. That means the whole season needs to be filmed and it’s currently in post-production work. Lucifer Season 4 will premiere sometime in 2019. The downside is you’ll need a Netflix subscription.
9. Veronica Mars
Not all reboots are exciting but this one certainly is. That’s because it’s not actually a reboot but a revival. The majority of the original Veronica Mars cast is on board at the moment, with still time for more to agree.
Rob Thomas is back behind the showrunner seat and is taking the series back to where it was in the beginning. Since it’s on Hulu, it will be darker and grittier than what the show could do on the likes of UPN and The CW (after UPN and The WB combined), which means setting up storylines that suit the now-adult cast.
There’s still no release date for Veronica Mars yet. It won’t be available on Amazon Prime, but it may be available to purchase the episodes like you can other Hulu Originals, such as The Handmaid’s Tale.
