2. Moana

The penultimate movie on this list isn’t one that’s set at New Year. Nor is it a movie that involves partying and hangovers. This is perfect for the whole family, Moana.

The Disney movie is one of those that has been loved by adults and children since its release in 2016. Focusing on lead character, Moana, we get to see what it means to have a strong spirit and heart. She decides to go on a journey alone to save her people and that means meeting the once powerful and dangerous demigod Maui.

Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson voice the two lead characters. They face all sorts of dangerous creatures and push themselves to the limits. Well, Moana does. Maui isn’t someone you’ll want to rely on until he learns what it means to be good and kind.

By why Moana for the New Year? This is a time of year that we tend to look at our futures and who we are. It’s the time of year we push ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves, and Moana is all about that.

The biggest downside to this movie is that you can’t watch it for free with your Prime membership. It’s only available to buy digitally. You can’t even rent it if you want the version with the bonus content. If you just want the theatrical release, you can rent that for the night.

Your kids will love this movie so much, I highly recommend buying. It’s one with such a positive message for children, especially young girls, that you’ll be happy to put it on over and over again. You’re welcome!
