What is Line of Duty about?
Not to be confused with the excellent British drama, the 2013 movie stars Will Rothhaar, Will Estes, Jeremy Ray Valdez, and Sean Patrick Flanery. Four friends end up growing apart over the years. Two are pulled into the life of crime, while the other two become FBI agents. As the FBI captain realizes the group knows each other, the two FBI agents are sent undercover to bring down their childhood friends.
There’s loyalty, betrayal, danger, and intensity. This is one of those movies that you can put on once the kids are in bed. It’s rated R because of the strong violence, so definitely not for the whole family.
Financial and critical success
Admittedly, this isn’t one of the most popular drops from Amazon Prime Video this December. There isn’t a Tomatometer score and the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is mostly negative at 41%. Yet, there’s something alluring about it if you like the standard cop dramas.
It most definitely wasn’t a financial success. Not even able to make it’s $2.5m budget back, it grossed $53,000 in the United States.
It’s not the greatest but also not the worst movie in the world. Just don’t go in with high expectations and you’ll be good.
