Christmas Countdown Day #13: Gargoyle
Day 13 in the Christmas Countdown is all about the 2004 movie Gargoyle. If you like low-budget sci-fi horrors then this is most definitely for you.
Gargoyle was one of the Dec. 1 drops on Amazon Prime Video and makes it to the Christmas Countdown list on Day #13. It’s the movie to watch tonight, as you work your way through the December listings on the service.
For those who love low-budget horrors, this is most definitely for you. Set in 2004 (the time it was released) it tells the story of two CIA agents who have to figure out who is responsible for a set of grisly murders. Of course, it’s not as easy as it sounds.

What is Gargoyle about?
When Griff and Jennifer go to Bucharest to investigate a kidnapping, they end up on the case of brutal murders. What they don’t realize is the murders are not by normal people. There’s an evil force released after a recent earthquake and now the evil force is laying eggs.
This is one of those mythological movies that brings in end of the world danger. Also known as Gargoyle: Wings of Darkness, it’s one of those movies you put on when you’re looking for background noise. Wrap the presents, do some knitting, or even write out the Christmas cards.
There’s not even a decent trailer on YouTube, but you can check this one out.
Financial and critical success
Gargoyle isn’t a raved about movie. It’s one of the few movies that has received a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes with the audience and doesn’t even have a Tomatometer score. It’s cheesy and corny, with many people saying to stay away.
I always think you need to make up your own mind. Considering it’s free with your Prime membership (that you know you get for the Prime Originals and free two-day shipping), it’s worth just watching for some laughs as you see how bad it really is.
Hey, I never promised all 25 movies in the runup to Christmas would be stellar!
