Mandy Moore plays Milly, one of three sisters. When their mother (Diane Keaton) gets closer to her 60th birthday, she becomes more overbearing than usual. All the mother wants is for her youngest daughter to find love.

Lauren Graham and Piper Perabo star as the other two sisters, who realize that their mom may be putting the focus on Milly to avoid having to deal with turning 60. After all, for many women, it can feel like the end of their life.

To focus on Milly finding love, mom Daphne decides to put a personal ad out and tries to set Milly up with Jason. Meanwhile, Milly finds her own date, Gabriel Macht’s Johnny. Juggling both matches, Milly’s life becomes a tangled mess. What’s going to happen in the end?

Financial, critical, and commercial success

As a Mandy Moore movie, This Is Us fans will definitely want to check it out. While it’s a standard rom-com, there are some beautiful moments as both mother and daughter find love.

While it’s not an award-winning movie, it was a financial success. With a budget of a little over $39 million, it pulled in $69.5 million around the world. Critics were lukewarm about it, but there’s something special about the movie with the fans. That’s likely linked to the casting. Who doesn’t love Moore, Macht, and Keaton?
