Sneaky Pete Season 3 has been confirmed. The Amazon Prime Original will head to California for filming and here’s everything we know so far.

Last month, Amazon confirmed the Prime Original Sneaky Pete will get a third season. It’s awesome news for fans of the show, but that’s not all that was confirmed. Den of Geek confirms that the show is moving to the West Coast to take advantage of tax breaks.

Currently, the show films in New York, but that’s not going to be the case any longer. It’s become the 13th show to land one of the tax credits, $9.2 million tax credit in fact. Other shows that have made this move include The OA and The Affair.

The move is going to mean the relocation of the cast, crew, and extras. In total, just short of 3,000 people are going to move. It’s not clear yet if absolutely everyone will go with the production or if there will be some new cast, crew, and extra members for Sneaky Pete Season 3.

Some of the settings will need to change for the third season. Right now, Bridgeport, Connecticut is the main set for the series, but upstate New York and New York City have also been heavily used. Of course, it’s possible to use the studio facilities in the way CSI: New York and Brooklyn Nine-Nine have used, but what about other on-location sets?

The storyline hasn’t yet been revealed. Filming hasn’t started yet, as the confirmation for the third season only came from Amazon last month. Writing will still need to take place.

While there’s no release date yet, the show will likely be released sometime in the late spring of 2019 at the earliest. Many shows on Amazon wait 14 months between drops, so May-June 2019 would be about right. However, The Man in the High Castle fans know the wait can be much longer!

If you haven’t seen Sneaky Pete yet, you’re missing out. The series is about a man who pretends to be Pete and infiltrates Pete’s family. Over time, he comes to care for the family he’s conning. Typical, huh?
