Goliath season 3: Will Amazon renew the Billy Bob Thornton series?

Goliath season 2 was just released on Prime Video but after binge-watching, fans are already wondering about the show’s future and if it’ll return for a season 3.

Have you already powered through the new season of Goliath and now you have a hole in your TV life? If so, congratulations on your binge-watching prowess and for finishing the season so quickly. That’s a testament to your fansmanship and I salute you because I, too, binge-watched the second season on Friday and now I’m ready for more.

If you’re like me and are already done with Goliath and are hoping for news that the Billy Bob Thornton crime drama will be back, fans are going to have to be a little more patient.

News of renewals does come before the season premiere of the most recent seasons at times. This was the case for Bosch which was already greenlit for a fifth season before season 4 debuted. It’s also the case for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the upcoming Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series.

But that’s not the case for Goliath which is awaiting renewal from Amazon.

Hopefully, fans won’t have to wait as long as the news for a season 2 renewal.

After season 1 was released on Oct. 14, it took until Feb. 14, for the official announcement to come out that Goliath was getting a second season.

Four months is an eternity for the die-hard TV fans who would have a new episode of Goliath every week. Having to wait four months just to find out if the show will continue can be an exhausting test of patience.

This is just a gut instinct and not to be confused with inside information or anything like that, but I have a feeling fans won’t have to wait that long to find out what’s next for Goliath. My hunch is as long as Thornton wants to keep making the show, it will continue. Obviously, he’s a big movie star who will have a number of feature film opportunities, so he could choose to walk away, but I don’t know he would walk away from a role he won a Golden Globe for.

Again, this is just me working on a hunch, and maybe a little bit of wishful thinking because I think this show is so good and I hope it comes back for a season 3.

Stay tuned for official confirmation from Amazon in the coming weeks and months about the fate of Goliath. Our fingers are crossed it will be back. In the meantime, we hope you’ll enjoy the first two seasons on Prime Video.

In addition to Thornton, Goliath stars Ana de la Reguera, Nina Arianda, Matthew Del Negro, Mark Duplass, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Tania Raymonde and Diego Josef.
