If you’re looking for something great to watch on Amazon Prime Video, you’ve come to the right place because we have some nice recommendations for you to watch this weekend. Your Amazon Prime Video weekend watchlist includes a brand new Amazon Original series, an Oscar-winning movie and a trip down memory lane to enjoy some great HBO shows.
I Love Dick – Season 1 of the Amazon Original series was released on Friday, May 12. The series is based on the novel from Chris Kraus and created for TV by Transparent’s Jill Soloway and Sarah Gubbins. The series stars Kathryn Hahn and Griffin Dunne as Chris and Sylvere, a married couple in a sex drought, who relocates to Marfa, Texas for his residency program in the art town. Chris was supposed to drop him off and head to Venice where her film was to be screened at a film festival.
However, when her plans go awry she sticks in Marfa where she becomes obsessed with Dick (Kevin Bacon) who heads up the fellowship program as a mysterious cowboy/art star. He’s rather blunt to the point of being borderline rude and dismissive of women filmmakers but Chris is drawn to him to prove him wrong so much so that she begins writing letters to him, she never intended to be released but they’re really quite good and helpful in getting her marriage and sex life back on track. The first season contains eight episodes.

Manchester by the Sea – We recommended the Oscar winner in last weekend’s recommendations, but it’s just so good so if you haven’t seen it yet, carve out a couple of hours this weekend to enjoy this emotional journey.
All of Nothing: A Season with the Arizona Cardinals – For the sports fans, check out Amazon’s counter to HBO’s Hard Knocks and spend a season behind the scenes with the Arizona Cardinals. The trailer was just released this week for the new season that will feature the Los Angeles Rams. For die-hard NFL fans who need something to fill the void with the NFL Draft over and training camp still a few months away, this series will do just that.

HBO Shows – If you love watching The Wire, The Sopranos, Girls, Six Feet Under, Deadwood or any of the other outstanding HBO programs on Amazon Prime Video, you better watch everything as fast as you can while you can. On June 1, the HBO titles will be leaving Amazon as the licensing deal expires with HBO who will house all their titles under their own streaming service. You still have time but if you’ve never seen The Sopranos or The Wire, don’t waste any more time and get on that this weekend.
