Updated ranking of the 25 best comedy movies on Amazon Prime Video you need to watch in May, including the Naked Gun trilogy.

If you’re in the mood for a good laugh, you should check out some of the best comedies on Amazon Prime. Our May update for our list of the 25 best comedies on Amazon Prime Video includes a nice mix of classic flicks and newer releases.

First, let’s look at some of the classic comedies arriving on Amazon Prime Video in May. One of the best holiday movies of all time is Planes, Trains and Automobiles and it’s streaming effectively as of May 1. John Candy and Steve Martin make this movie an all-time classic. The two have the travel adventure from hell when they are trying to make it home in time for Thanksgiving. Every mode of transportation fails them in highly comedic fashion as Candy and Martin grow more frustrated by the minute until Martin’s character breaks and takes our his frustration on Candy’s character.

That’s not the only classic comedy coming to Prime, but the next is a three-for-one special with all three Naked Gun movies arriving on May 1. Naked Gun From the Files of Police Squad, Naked Gun 2 &1/2: The Smell of Fear and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult is one of the best comedy franchises and Leslie Nielson is an absolute genius for bringing Frank Drebin to life.

How about a classic sports comedy? The Bad News Bears is the movie for you then. Walter Matthau played the former minor leaguer who coaches a group of little leaguers in California while drinking in the dugout.

It’s a classic that should be watched by old and new fans alike. Tatum O’Neal, Vic Morrow, Jackie Earle Haley and Joyce Van Patten also star in the movie from 1976.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will be released on May 20. This is the sequel to the 2014 movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Tyler Perry, Laura Linney, Stephen Amell, Tony Shaloub and Brad Garrett. The movie is rated PG-13 and makes a great watch for most kids.
