13. “Nancy Mulligan”

Okay, I will give Ed the benefit of the doubt. This song was a complete 180 from what we expected on this album. Following the Irish theme of the album, Ed wrote this song that captured  the love of the characters, but was it enough to keep us interested or did we all hit skip?

The Feels: This story detailed the love between two people. Although her father disagrees with it, they get married anyway. Cute, simple, but overdone.

The Lyrics: I will give it to Ed that this song is interesting. I found myself listening closely to the lyrics to dissect the meaning. I was caught off guard to hear “William Sheeran.”

The Beat: Back to the Irish theme, Ed showcases a culturally rich piece with many hints to the traditional Irish music. The beat is worthy of a foot tap here and there.
