Hannibal is loosely based on the novel Red Dragon written by Thomas Harris. The series was developed by Bryan Fuller.

In the series, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), an FBI profiler, begins therapy with Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelson) after the job of hunting serial killers becomes too much. Lecter, a killer himself, tries to manipulate Graham into becoming a killer.

Despite critical acclaim, Hannibal was canceled by NBC after three seasons.

After NBC canceled Hannibal, there was a ton of buzz that Netflix or Amazon would pick up the series for a fourth season, but that never happened. While Fuller won’t let Hannibal die that easy, it seems like this could be the end of the road for the series.

The first two seasons of Hannibal are currently on Amazon Prime Video. We expect the third season of the series to be added to the streaming service some time in 2016, likely around January or February.
