The Expanse was originally a SYFY series that ran for three seasons. Based on the novels of the same name by James S.A. Corey (a penname of Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck), the series is set hundreds of years in the future. Mars has been colonized, along with other parts of the solar system. However, that colonization hasn’t necessarily been peaceful.

With different military branches, Mars and Earth are on the brink of war. The only thing that may save them is the growing conspiracy that could unravel everything about the human race. Of course, the conspiracy could also break them!

After being canceled just ahead of the third season finale, fans campaigned to save The Expanse and Amazon obliged. The fourth season is coming to the end of filming and will be with us sometime in 2019.

Fans aren’t the only ones who love the show. Critics have enjoyed the character development, political story, and visual effects. It won the Best Dramatic Presentation Hugo Award, while also being nominated for Best Science Fiction Television Series three times at the Saturn Awards.

The show is more than just a show. It’s expanded into a franchise, with comic books created to tie into both the books and the TV show.
