There are a lot of shows on the market with unusual premises, and then there’s Hung. The tongue-in-cheek title leaves little to the imagination about the HBO series’ focus, but that’s what makes it work. When Ray (Thomas Jane), a struggling high school basketball coach, loses his home to a fire, he uses his second largest asset to make money.

That’s right, Ray capitalizes on being, well, hung to create a gigolo business with help from his friend Tanya (Jane Adams). The new gigolo also juggles his ex-wife (Anne Heche) and twins (Charlie Saxton, Sianoa Smit-McPhee) while rebuilding his life and fortune beyond suburban coaching.

As you could imagine, tensions arise as the business of being well-endowed and in-demand grow more and more complicated. Case in point, Arrow’s Stephen Amell joins the cast in Season 3 as a competing gigolo. With an original premise and an excellent team in front of and behind the camera, Hung’s 30 episodes are well worth a binge.
