Originating from the United Kingdom, the Amazon Studios original series Catastrophe hails from the writing team Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan. When Rob Norris (Rob Delaney) visits London and hooks up with Sharon Morris (Sharon Horgan) for a “one-week stand,” the pair get way more than they bargained for. Sharon’s pregnancy brings Rob back to London from Boston ready to take on a relationship.

Rob and Sharon get the whole “catastrophe” all at once after a simple week-long affair. The sitcom also features Ashley Jensen, Mark Bonnar, and Carrie Fisher in supporting roles to round out the immensely talented cast. Also, Delaney and Horgan write each episode together, and a sole director helms the series. It’s not often that a television show has a singular vision and tone through and through.

With six episodes per season (and at least two more seasons on the way in the coming years), the funny and heartfelt Catastrophe stands as one of the best and breeziest binges on Amazon Prime Video.
