The Canadian comedy series, which airs on Pop in the U.S., stars comedy legends but remains an underdog in the sitcom world. Schitt’s Creek follows the wealthy Rose family, who relocate to the titular town they once jokingly purchased when they lose their money. Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Moira (Catherine O’Hara) pick up the pieces of their lives in a shoddy motel with their adult children, David (Dnaiel Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy).

Although it’s toward the bottom of our list, don’t take that as a testament of its quality. That’s just how it shakes out when there’s an abundance of hilarity on Amazon Prime. Schitt’s Creek has proven itself to be one of the most original family sitcoms to breakthrough in the past few years. And on top of a great cast, the series makes strides for the LGBTQ+ community.

David, played by creator and writer Daniel Levy, came out as pansexual in the first season. Unfortunately, few series have represented the sexual identification in a normalizing way or have even brought it up for conversation. However, Schitt’s Creek isn’t a social issues show. It’s quirky and worthy of a binge.
